The Pines at Hathaway Pond is a collaborative new development project by Hartley-Rhodes, Inc. and T.M. Zell Development Company. Each organization brings strong local community ties and substantial development and construction experience in the region. For this refreshing active adult community located in the Rochester countryside at the former Knight & Look Campground, they have formed Hartley-Zell Housing Association, LLC. The Managing Principals are Walter R. Hartley and Todd M. Zell.
Hartley-Rhodes, Inc.
Two brothers - Walter and Greenwood Hartley -founded Hartley-Rhodes, Inc. in 1994. With 36 acres of woodland they purchased from their parents, they developed 12 acres of cranberry bogs, with a tailwater recovery pond, plus roads, dikes and other modern cranberry farm features.
The project took six years to complete and prompted area cranberry farmers to enlist them to design and construct similar projects. In 2001,they designed and built a compost mixing and stabilization project for Hiller Brothers, Inc.In 2003, they designed and built a supplemental water-holding pond for Double M Cranberries. In 2004, they designed and are currently completing a tailwater recovery pond for Eagle Holt Company, Inc.
T.M. Zell Development Co, Inc.
Formed in May of 2002, T.M. Zell Development is a branch of Zell Builders, a family-owned construction company established in 1986. Zell Builders has earned a strong reputation as a highly-skilled and successful residential builder and general contractor, specializing in large rehabilitation projects and high-end condominiums in and around the Greater Boston area. In the last three years, Zell Builders has expanded its expertise into the commercial market, offering general contracting services to various clients involved with new home construction and commercial office renovations. Together, the companies developed and constructed The Village at Mattapoisett, a 36-unit condominium community located in the seaside village of Mattapoisett, MA.
